Guinea Pig & Dwarf Rabbit Boarding Information
All resident guinea pigs and rabbits are fed, watered and handled daily, their bedding is maintained and plenty of hay along with fresh treats are provided. Accommodation We have a number of Ferplast 100 cages (approximately 100cm x 60cm), suitable for guinea pigs and dwarf rabbits. These are kept in a heated/insulated shed with a radio softly playing the animals' favourite tunes. All cages are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between stays. **Please note that until recently we have also offered outdoor boarding in larger wooden hutches - we now only have the indoor cages described above plus the outdoor runs described below. Please excuse any old photos of pets in wooden hutches, these will be updated in due course.** Exercise We have a number of sizable, purpose-built outdoor runs (all visible from the house) which all visitors can make use of (depending on weather conditions and availability). Shade, water and a 'play-house' will be provided for any animal making use of these. Food & Water We ask that owners bring enough of their pets' dried food to last the stay. We will supply daily fresh fruit/veg and provide unlimited hay. Water will be provided via either a standard rodent water bottle or bowl (depending on preference) in both hutches and outdoor runs. Bedding We generally use a newspaper under-layer with either hay, straw or pine shavings as a substrate, if you'd rather we use a different type of bedding for your pet(s) just bring a supply along with you at the beginning of the stay and we'll use that instead. All cages are frequently spot-cleaned and get a complete change of bedding on a weekly basis. Text/Email Updates Worried about how your pets will get on while you're away?
